We had this the other night and it was sooo light and delicious. Orange Chiffon Cake
1 ½ c flour all purpose (or 1 c cake flour + ½ c all purpose flour) 1 1/3 cups white sugar 1 tbsp baking powder 1 tsp salt Zest of rind of one orange, grated
Mix in bowl and beat with wooden sthingy. Add, into hole in flour:
½ c oil 6 egg yolks ½ c water ¼ c orange juice
Beat with wooden sthingy.
½ tsp cream of tarter into all egg whites in separate bowl. Beat until soft peaks, not dry.
Fold in flour mixture,
Pul in angel food pan. Bake 55 minutes at 325F. Increase to 350F for 10 minutes. Place upside down to cool.
Ice with whipped cream and mandarin orange pieces.
